Sponsored by the Conference of English Educators

Endorsed by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Conference on English Education (CEE), the English section of the CITE Journal, or Contemporary Issues in Technology and English Language Arts Teacher Education, offers opportunities to engage in thought-provoking dialogue about the issues involved in emerging technologies and English education. The online format of the CITE Journal supports web links, streaming video, sound files, and other interactive technologies, all of which provide creative opportunities for publishing online.

CEE members are engaged in the preparation, support, and continuing education of teachers of the English language arts and literacy, and they understand the need to introduce and infuse technology into English and language arts curricula and teacher education pro¬grams. Exploring the discourse of language with and through technology provides individual attention, collaborative opportunities, and reflective analysis.

Editors invite submissions relating to current issues in the English language arts and technology education. Articles should relate to the conceptual or theoretical uses of technology in the English language arts as well as significant policy issues, including equity, assessment, and the changing nature of literacy. Articles are encouraged that explore theory, research, and practice—both practical and innovative technology applications. Because the journal provides a unique opportunity for dialogue, the submission of commentaries on existing articles is welcomed. Accepted commentaries are presented along side the original articles in later editions. All articles and commentaries are peer reviewed.
