Denisse has published in Teaching Children Mathematics, Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, Mathematics Teacher, Journal For Research in Mathematics Education, and School Science and Mathematics, as well as in numerous books from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She recently completed a term on the editorial panel of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, serving as the chair from 2000-2002.
Denisse has co-edited a book on research related to student outcomes from most of the NSF-funded mathematics curriculum projects. The book should be available from Lawrence Erlbaum Publishers in fall 2002.
Her research interests include curriculum development, the use of literature in the teaching of mathematics, assessment issues, and the development of proof.
She previously taught at the middle school, high school, and community college levels. She also regularly spends time in K-12 schools.
