Colleen Swain, Current Practices Co-Editor

Colleen Swain joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 1997 as an Assistant professor of Educational Technology in the School of Teaching and Learning. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Technology, Training, and Development from the University of North Texas.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Florida, Colleen has worked in several educational environments. She was a lecturer in the department of Technology and Cognition at the University, a high school computer science and mathematics teacher, and a junior high school mathematics teacher.

Since arriving at the University of Florida, Colleen has developed numerous courses in the Educational Technology program. These course including Distance Teaching and Learning, Designing Technology Rich Curricula, and an undergraduate course Integrating Technology into the Curriculum. Colleen is also very committed to working with preservice and in-service teachers in a variety of ways. She's conducted semester-long training opportunities for teachers at local elementary schools and sponsored Kappa Delta Pi. Kara Dawson and Colleen Swain recently received funding for the University of Florida Teaching and Technology Incentive, a PT3 grant.
