 !  Highlighting "Learning to Teach"

Preservice science education cadidates in the MAT program must complete an e-portfolio in lieu of the Masters Comprehensive Exam. The portfolios will be assessed based upon the School of Educaiton's common rubric.

At the end of the preservice candidates' experience in the classroom, they will be required to complete an e-portfolio based upon the eight School of Education Principles. In past years, candidates were required to complete their e-portfolio based upon the 10 INTASC Principles.

Below are some examples to previous candidates' e-portfolios. The attached documents are only sections of the portfolio based upon a certain INTASC Principle.

Reflection

There have been different methods for submitting preservice teachers' e-portoflios. The examples above respresent a static method using CD storage technology. Another method for presenting an e-portfolio was completed online. Click on the following link to access one teacher's online portfolio.

 !   Portfolios

Portoflios showcased what candidates learned, created, and taught.
The portfolio was not just an assignment to complete, rather many candidates felt that it was a way to highlight who they were and what they had learned. Below are some links to additional documents and assignements associated with the e-portfolio that show canidates' abilities to learn to teach science.
